A 3' diameter exhaust is only 1/4' (9) larger than 2.75', but its 20 larger in cross-sectional area. Third, 'Best Guess' programs are not as good. The 3.5' exhaust is 27 larger in diameter, but 65 larger in cross-sectional area. You can wire in a 2nd relay triggered off the A/C compressor to turn the fan on with A/C. Doubling the diameter will quadruple the area. For example a softer curve for a wet track, a more aggressive curve for good track conditions and something in between for day to day driving. Make sure the relay can handle the current draw of the fan and fuse the circuit accordingly. Let’s say we want to have a few different boost curves programmed into the ECU for different scenarios. If you don't have any fan wiring then just wire in a single relay control to the fan 1 PCM trigger output and set the temps for fan 1 accordingly. That's why they use 3 relays to either configure them in either a parallel circuit or series circuit. Both would usually have the fan wiring incorporated it them with 3 relays controlling 2 fans where they either both run low speed or both run high speed. The number and style of ignition outputs needed from the ECU will play a major role in deciding which unit is going to be right for you. I keep the intake, injectors, MAF and so on stock, so I should be easily getting it running. It is an LS1 Block with 706 heads and truck norris cam. RyanSince this is in a 68 Camaro I'm assuming you are either using a modified stock GM harness or an aftermarket. I am building a new engine for my 2000 Silverado 1500 with LR4. I was also considering using maybe a 4 and 5 pin relay in conjunction with the A/C activation in the scenario where the fans weren't on but the A/C was on. Thanks for the reply, but I'm not entirely certain what you mean? I currently don't have the fans hooked up, but was planning on using a typical 4 or 5 pin relay.
